About
According to a "Roads and Bridges" retrospective written by Dick Eustis, page 11 of Old Town Maine: The First 175 Years, 1840-2015, a "Middle Street" was approved and funded in 1843, but ran from the river to "Church Street" rather than from Main Street to Elm Street. The current Middle Street is home to The United Baptist Church and The Old Town Public Library.
