Description
Metal (bronze?) baggage check for the Maine Central Railroad. Since Maine Central RR only began serving Old Town in 1882, the check postdates that date. On the basis of the lettering “J. Robbins, Boston” of the name of the check maker John Robbins above the slot, the check was likely produced before 1890. The spelling “Oldtown” for “Old Town” puts the check in roughly in the same period.
