Description
Photo of Agnes Rowena Burnham Townsend (1878-1962) of Old Town. Possibly taken around 1898, the year in which Agnes graduated from OTHS and started at the University of Maine. While at the University of Maine, she was one of the first members of Phi Gamma, a local sorority established in February 1897 and a precursor to the gamma chapter of Delta Sigma (1903-1908) and later the gamma chapter of Alpha Omicron Pi (1908-present).
